I love those moments when you're talking to your kids and they are being
SO serious but it's actually
REALLY funny, so you sit there trying to be very supportive and not let them see you're about to bust a gut. I had one this morning. It has been an ongoing discussion for a couple of weeks now. And every time with the same result ... me needing to walk away so he doesn't see I'm laughing. E confided in me a while back that he has bad dreams. He doesn't like these bad dreams and wanted to get rid of them. So we had a discussion of how we can pray and ask our Heavenly Father to help our bad thoughts go away. I then asked what his bad dreams were about, not at all expecting the answer he gave me:
dreams about naked girls! In amongst the move and everything, I completely forgot about our conversation until last week, when while saying his bedtime prayers E prayed ... to have the naked girl dreams go away! Jarem turned to me and mouthed
'What did he just say?' So I told Daddy about the naked girl dreams which E helped clear up: they weren't just naked girls, they were naked girls that
he had undressed!! It
really upsets E that he has these thoughts and he was near tears, while Jarem and I were near tears from holding in the laughter! So once again, this morning I asked E how he slept. The usual morning conversation. To which he replied, "
Not good. I had my naked girl dreams again." So I asked who was the girl in his dream. "
Ms. V and I undressed her." (His S'toon Kindergarten Teacher!!!) I think we may have to have a little chat again ......
Oh, and I've been sworn to secrecy, so sshhh don't tell!!
That's INSANE!!!!!! I can't believe you were laughing.... I don't know what I would do. What a good kid though to be upset by that!
